A teenage boy who was taken to hospital after falling from a roof is thought to have been free-running.

It is believed the 13-year-old was jumping between the buildings when the incident occurred last Thursday in Twydall Green at around 7pm.

A family friend reported that he suffered from a ruptured spleen, fractured skull and a bleed on the head.

He was moved to a London hospital where he is recovering and he is hoping to be discharged on Monday after his condition stabilised.

There have been reports of children free-running along the row of shops for some time. Metal fencing has been put up on one of the buildings in an attempt to try and deter the youngsters from doing the high risk sport which includes jumping from buildings and carrying out acrobatic moves.

Coral Leport, who works at Invicta Farm Products in Twydall Green, said: "I’ve seen them running from the bins and I was just waiting for one of them to fall and hurt themselves. I’ve heard that they run around on the ledges above the shops too."
