A teenager has reported a man acting suspiciously outside a secondary school.

Albert Wakefield, 13, was walking home from the Robert Napier School, in Balmoral Gardens, Gillingham, when a male motorist reportedly asked if he wanted a lift.

He is said to have run home to Britton Street after the man pulled into the road from Gillingham High Street.

Medway Police officer were called to investigate the incident, at about 3.30pm last Thursday.

Acting Ch Sup Mark Arnold said: "This appears to be an isolated incident and we are not aware of any similar circumstances being reported to police in Gillingham or across Medway.

"However, we would always advise that if people believe there is someone acting suspiciously they should contact police immediately."

Police said the suspect was described as "scruffy", with long blond hair and driving a red car.

Officers have viewed CCTV footage, but the incident was not caught on camera and police said the description did not match those of any known offenders.
