An angry young man threw rocks and bottles over the wall of the police station after his girlfriend was arrested by police.
Nathan Palmer, 18, was seen hurling the missiles over the car park wall and was spoken to by officers and warned that if he didn’t stop his actions and move on, he was likely to be arrested.
Palmer, of Toronto Road, Gillingham, did leave the area but returned several hours later and started throwing stones over the wall again but this time officers arrested him.
When he was interviewed he admitted throwing the missiles and told officers he was aiming for the roof of the police station because he was unhappy that his girlfriend had been arrested.
Palmer was charged with attempted criminal damage and appeared before magistrates in Medway, where he admitted the charge.
Debbie Jones, prosecuting, told the magistrates that because Palmer had already spent time in police custody over the matter, it could be dealt with by way of being bound over to keep the peace.
Stephen Boughton, chairman of the bench, said: "We will bound you over in the sum of £100 to keep the peace for 12 months, especially towards police officers."
