Two teenagers suspected to have taken a motorbike without permission before driving it dangerously on a road will appear in court.
Jay McCarvil, 18, and a 16-year-old boy, both from Gillingham, have been charged on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking.
A motorbike had come to the attention of a patrolling officer in City Way, Rochester, at 10.30pm on Monday (March 4).
The officer followed the vehicle before requesting it to stop but the pair are alleged to have continued.
Due to safety concerns, the bike was tactically stopped near Robin Hood Lane, Chatham.
Both were arrested shortly after and have since been charged with aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving.
McCarvil, of Sunnymead Avenue, Gillingham, has also been charged with failing to stop when requested to do so by a police constable, driving without insurance and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence.
The pair were bailed to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on March 27.
A mandatory Independent Office for Police Conduct referral has been made in connection to this investigation.
Police would not give any more details regarding the referral.
