A terminally-ill mum says she has been scammed out of her disability allowance trying to buy tickets for an Adele concert.
Lisa Middlecote paid £440 for her and sister Justine Nield to see the star this Wednesday.
The cancer sufferer wanted to create a “lasting memory gift” the two could share as she only has months to live.
She visited the website goticketsUK.com which has since disappeared from the internet.
Several online forums include mentions of the company with disappointed customers also saying they have lost money.
West Mercia Police has also warned the public to be wary of buying tickets.
Lisa, who is 49 and lives with her sister in Balmoral Road, Gillingham, has been left devastated after paying the cash earlier this month.
It was the first time she had bought online and thought the site was legitimate because the tickets cost so much.
The company claimed the concert was at the O2 rather than Wembley where it is being held, but Lisa didn’t realise.
Speaking to KentOnline, Justine said: “It was heartbreaking when she told me. She was in tears because she felt she’d let me down.
“It is not like I can reassure her by saying there is always another day in the future as there just won’t be. This was on her bucket list.”
The 45-year-old added: “When Lisa bought the tickets she thought she was getting a good deal.
“She has tried contacting the number and sending emails but we have received no answer.
“Lisa is going to go to the bank, we have no idea what to do right now, we want to contact Wembley to see if they can get something done for us and try to get her wishes come true.”
The mum-of-two, whose favourite Adele song is Hello, suffers from small cell lung cancer – a type of the disease which spreads quicker than others.
Justine added: “We will be lucky if she lives past this Christmas, it is a waiting, every day I can see her condition deteriorate and one day her body will give in.”
Lisa, who also paid £80 for a new dress for the concert, has several activities on her bucket list.
These included a London tour and an extreme sport experience which the sisters have already enjoyed.
Next up is a 50th birthday party on August 17, almost a year after doctors told her she was terminally ill.
Justine says they are desperate to get some gospel singers along but at the moment this is proving difficult because of the cost.
Lisa, who is also a grandmother-of-one, is a keen Ed Sheeran fan and would love to see him perform.
