A family are calling answers after a cyclist was left with serious injuries in a hit and run crash.
The injured man in his 50s was taken to hospital after being hit by a van on the Chatham bound carriageway of the A229 on Blue Bell Hill, just before 8pm on Wednesday September 22.
Having suffered a fractured spine, along with head and neck injuries, he remained in hospital for a week and his family fear it will be a long road to recovery.
Meanwhile a police investigation remains ongoing, although relatives of the injured man understand the vehicle involved - which left the scene of the crash before officers arrived - has since been identified.
"He's been in hospital and came out last week," said his sister, who asked for her brother's name not to be published. "He's at home now but not doing too good. He's on morphine and can't do too much.
"We've been in contact with police and can't seem to get too far. They know it was a transit van and they know who owns it but they don't know who was driving.
"I don't understand why they can't go and knock on the door. We want to find out who hit my brother. They could have killed him. It's been horrible."
The victim's sister also appealed for drivers who might have dash-cam footage of a transit van heading up Blue Bell Hill between 7pm and 8pm that evening, to come forward.
