Businesses came together for an awards ceremony to recognise the best firms in the Towns.
The 2023 Medway Business Awards were held at Priestfield Stadium in Gillingham.
The awards, now in their 38th year, reward and celebrate the work of Medway’s business sector.
Susan Jennings, a partner with Furley Page Solicitors and chair of the Medway Business Awards judges, said: “It has been great to see determination, flair and hard work from the wide variety of businesses that have applied.
“The judges comprising me, Rachel Emmerson of Kreston Reeves and Gavin Coleman of Handelsbanken, had a tough job selecting the finalists and deciding on the winners.
“This year’s finalists showed commitment to their staff, customers and the community around them. Focus remains firmly fixed on investment, growth and the environment. Many congratulations to the finalists and winners.
“This has been the toughest year yet for the judges.”
More than 250 guests attended the black-tie event, which was hosted by Nicola Everett, head of multimedia news at KentOnline.
The evening included live music from local band The Redford’s, a casino, and award-winning magicians.
The winners were:
MTS Cleansing Services Ltd – Large Business of The Year
Sleepeezee – Manufacturer of The Year
Primech Building Services – Industry Excellence Award
Brimstone Site Investigation – SME of The Year
Total Machining Solutions – Commitment to Investment Award
Amy Jayne Aesthetics – Customer Service Award

Nigel Heward, from MTS Cleansing Services Ltd, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded Large Business of the Year for 2023 by the Medway Business Awards.
“The financial year 2022/23 was our busiest year yet with a record turn over and exceptionally strong performance especially in the south-east where our work is helping to protect the environment for our water utility clients.
“We are very proud of all our staff, who’s dedication and commitment has enabled us to perform at such a high level and it is fitting that their exceptional efforts have been recognised in this award.”
Another delighted winner was Amy Jayne Aesthetics, a laser and skin clinic in Rainham. Amy Bowler, founder and owner, said: “I am honestly speechless, to be a finalist was amazing, but to win is just incredible.
“I put my heart and soul into my business so winning this makes it all worthwhile, it’s a testament to all the girls at the clinic who help to make the clinic what it is today.”
The awards are sponsored by: Furley Page, Kreston Reeves, Handelsbanken, National Grid, MidKent College, University of Greenwich, Medway Council, and KM Media Group, Gillingham Football Club and Copper Rivet Distillery.
