Woman given curfew order.
A woman has been ordered not to go out after 9.30pm after she admitted assaulting a woman in The Brook, Chatham, on August 25, last year.
Tanisha Freeman was sentenced for actual bodily harm at Medway Magistrates’ Court.
The 20-year-old, of Chilham Road, Gillingham, was sentenced to 90 days in prison, suspended for 12 months, and given a six-month curfew to remain at home between 9.30pm and 9.30am daily.
The curfew runs until September 27.
She must also pay £175 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
Shoplifter facing prison sentence.
Sade Melsie Anne Knight has been jailed after she admitted two counts of shoplifting and three counts of vehicle interference.
On January 16 this year, the 26-year-old, of Fort Pitt Street, Chatham, stole five SD memory cards worth £40 from a shop in Luton Road, Chatham.
Four days later, she tampered with three cars in Hill Road, Rochester, intending to either steal them or steal from them.
On February, 13, she stole two tracksuits worth £200 from a shop in Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre, Gillingham.
Magistrates sentenced Knight to 15 weeks in prison. She must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.
Drink driver given long ban.
A driver has been banned after an accident in Gillingham Road, Gillingham, earlier this year. Renatas Varanavicius admitted driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving without insurance, drink driving and failing to stop after a road accident.
On February 12, the 32-year-old, of Balmoral Road, Gillingham, was driving a Jaguar X-Type with no insurance when he failed to stop after an accident that damaged another vehicle.
When breathalysed by police, he gave a reading of 83 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
He was sentenced on March 29, at Medway Magistrates’ Court and banned from driving for 22 months. He must also pay a £1,500 fine, £85 costs and a £50 victim surcharge.
Neighbour jailed for assault.
A woman has been jailed for 60 days after admitting common assault.
Susanna Marie Rye appeared before magistrates in Medway. The court heard the 42-year-old, of Bodiam Close, Gillingham, assaulted another woman in the same road, on February 25. She must pay £75 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
Woman trashes cars.
A woman has been ordered to carry out hundreds of hours of unpaid work after damaging four cars.
Charlie Neate, 26, pleaded guilty to four counts of criminal damage when she appeared before magistrates in Medway.
The court heard how Neate, of no fixed address, damaged the four cars in Belmont Road, Gillingham, in March.
Magistrates ordered Neate to carry out 320 hours of unpaid work, pay £400 compensation and £85 costs.
Pensioner assaults neighbour.
A pensioner has narrowly avoided jail after assaulting a man in the road he lives in.
Peter Chadwick, 65, pleaded guilty to common assault when he appeared before magistrates in Medway.
The court heard how Chadwick, of Elizabeth Court, Gillingham, assaulted a man at another address in Elizabeth Court.
Magistrates jailed Chadwick for 12 weeks but suspended the term for 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay £200 compensation and £400 costs.
