A man was arrested on suspicion of money laundering after officers found thousands of pounds inside a car.

Officers on a routine patrol in Medway when a vehicle came to their attention during the early hours of Friday morning at Medway Valley Park, in Strood.

Police carried out a roadside drugs test before searching the vehicle where they found a large quantity of cash inside.

The man, who is in his late 30s and from Sheerness, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving as well as being arrested on suspicion of money laundering and has been bailed pending further investigation.
