Long delays after three-car crash near Aldi and Homebase at Horsted Retail Park, Chatham

Three cars were involved in a crash on a busy roundabout which sparked long traffic delays.

The collision happened in Maidstone Road, Chatham at the entrance to Horsted Retail Park which gives access to the Aldi and Homebase stores at around 6.30pm yesterday (July 23).

Four police cars and an ambulance attended the scene.

A child who was a passenger in one of the vehicles suffered minor injuries and was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.

The roundabout was temporarily blocked with traffic delays for up to an hour afterwards while a tow truck was called to remove one badly damaged vehicle.

Officers managed traffic as long queues built up on Blue Bell Hill and some customers at Aldi and Homebase reported it took 40 minutes to get off the estate.
