Three-vehicle crash on Mierscourt Road in Rainham after police pursuit stolen van

A suspect who drove an allegedly stolen van during a police chase is now on the run.

The pursuit resulted in a three-vehicle crash on Mierscourt Road, Rainham, at the junction with the A2.

Police were called at 1.52pm today (October 31) after a report the vehicle had been stolen in Hempstead Road, Gillingham.

It is alleged that the original driver had been assaulted as well.

Patrols found the van and following a pursuit, it was involved in a minor accident with two other cars in Mierscourt Road.

A spokesman for the force said: “The driver left the scene on foot.

“No injuries were reported and enquiries are underway to locate the suspect.”
