A CRASH between an articulated lorry and a 36-tonne mobile crane shut a busy section of the M2 during the morning rush hour.
The lorry and crane collided near the M2 bridge on the coast bound section of the motorway shortly before 6.20am this morning.
Debris and oil were strewn across three lanes and the central reservation was damaged.
Police shut the road as fire crews from Strood and Medway freed the driver of the lorry, who was stuck in his cab.
He was later taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.
One lane was opened at 8.30am, but the other lanes are still closed to allow a team from the Highways Agency to make the road safe.
An investigation into the crash will also be undertaken by Kent Poli
