Traffic delays on the Wainscott bypass

Motorists are experiencing delays after an incident on the Wainscott bypass this afternoon.

A land Rover lost its trailer which crashed into the central reservation of the busy dual carriageway.

Police say they were called to the accident at about 4.20pm today the A289.

The trailer detatched from the silver Land Rover and ended up on the reservation.

Police closed the road and tried to get the trailer but now say they are waiting for a recovery vehicle.

One lane of the London-bound has now re-opened to allow traffic to slowly pass the crash site.

A spokesman for Medway Police said: “The traffic is moving slowly again, but motorists are advised to try and find alternative routes until the trailer can be removed from the road.”
