More travellers have pitched up at a recreation ground in part of the Towns.
Around 30 caravans and vehicles were spotted at Luton Rec in Ash Tree Lane, Chatham, at the beginning of the week.
Now, a few days on they are still at the green space and have lined up around the edge of the field.
Ian Gilmore, head of regulatory and environmental services at Medway Council, said: “We are aware of the group and are following a civil legal process to move the group on.”
One witness, who didn’t want to be named, and spotted the group added: “There was loads of them on the field. There isn’t any mess or anything, but they've taken over it.”
Earlier this month, KentOnline revealed a travellers encampment at the Wigmore Coach Park and Ride Car Park, in Maidstone Road, near Bredhurst, would be used as a temporary site for three months.
Toilets have been provided for the group at the site which has previously been used by people who commute to London on the Kings Ferry coach services.
There are currently no plans to turn the facility into a permanent traveller site.
Elsewhere, in the middle of June several caravans were spotted parked on the green next to Laburnum Road Recreation Ground in Strood.
Medway Council has been asked whether or not the group has been issued with a Section 61 order,
