Travellers spotted in Beechings Playing Field, Twydall

Travellers have been spotted "chucking loo roll" and with "loose dogs" as they set up in a new location.

The people of Twydall noticed around 20 caravans pitched up in Beechings Playing Field, Twydall.

They moved there yesterday after partially taking over the car park in Medway Park sports centre, in Mill Road, Gillingham.

Twydall resident Emma Deal said: "They are making a real mess and hassling residents.

"People have said there are lots of them, with loose dogs hassling residents who walk their own dogs.
"They are chucking loo roll and god knows what else around, it's disgraceful."

Miss Deal has spoken to Medway Council about the travellers.

She said: "Medway Council say they are following a civil civil legal procedure to move them on but that could take days.

"We should not be subjected to this."

Medway Council is aware of this and says it is following a civil legal procedure to move them on.
