A family has paid tribute to a "doting" grandad who died after being hit by a lorry.
The driver, a 55-year-old from Rochester, is currently under investigation for a number of driving offences.
David Potter was killed when he was struck by the vehicle at an industrial site near Cranes Close, Basildon on Friday, October 4.
Emergency services were called but the 57-year-old died at the scene.
The lorry driver was taken into custody following the incident, having been arrested on suspicion of causing death by wanton and furious driving and drug driving.
He was released under investigation.
David's family put out a tribute to the man they said was "loved by everyone he met".
"He had a big, loving heart and always put a smile on your face," they said.
"He was the kind of person who would always put others first. The most warm and loving person you would ever meet, who lived life to the fullest with the people who meant most to him."
