The family of the tragic mother and daughter who were found dead in a flat in Gillingham have paid a heartfelt tribute to their loved ones.
The bodies of Lillian Oluk, 36 and her two-year-old daughter Lynne Mutumba were discovered at their home in Trafalgar Court, Trafalgar Street, Gillingham on Monday, March 14.
Both deaths remained unexplained following post-mortem examinations and further tests are still being carried out.
Her family have issued the following statement about their loss: "We are shocked and overcome with grief over the untimely death of our daughter and sister Lillian Oluk and her daughter.
"Lillian was a beautiful, loving, talented and caring person and a truly wonderful mother. She adored her daughter and worked really hard to give her the best life she could.
"She was a private person and had a small group of loyal friends. She was also fun-loving, loved her music and was a very good dancer.
"She and her daughter were taken from us just when it seemed everything was going right for them and the two had their whole life ahead of them to look forward to. It seems so cruel. We will dearly miss the two of them.
“We are devastated by the circumstances of Lillian’s and her daughter’s death and hope the cause of death will be established soon. “
Neither death is being treated as suspicious and police are liaising with the Health and Safety Executive to try to establish the cause.
It is understood their bodies could have been undiscovered for about eight days.
