Olympic trampolinist Kat Driscoll is returning to the Medway club where she learnt to bounce as part of a nationwide sports day to celebrate Team GB’s success in Rio.
Jumpers Trampoline and Gymnastics Club are holding a free taster session at their centre at Medway Park, Mill Road, Gillingham tomorrow.
The session, which also includes free running, runs from 3.30pm until 4.30pm.
Silver Blades Ice Rink is jumping the gun with an event this evening where people can see how many laps they can do in an hour and everyone who takes part will get a gold medal and free skating pass.
The ice skating session runs from 4pm until 5pm at the ice rink on Ambley Road, Gillingham.
On Saturday, the parkrun at Great Lines Heritage Park will be in sports-themed fancy dress, with costume suggestions including judo-suits, snorkel-wearing swimmers, ballerinas, wrestlers or jockeys on horseback.
The weekly 5km run, which starts at 9am, will be followed by a traditional sports day with rounders, egg and spoon races, sack races, and space hoppers. People are also invited to bring cake.
Walderslade Judo Club is also holding an open day at its centre in Bradfields Avenue, Chatham from 11am until 2pm.
The nationwide event, organised by the National Lottery and ITV, will see thousands of events all over the UK.
