Arrests made after man robbed of phone and watch in Canterbury Street, Gillingham

Two people have been arrested after a man had his phone and watch robbed off of him.

A man told police knocked over when he was walking along Canterbury Street at the junction Green Street, Gillingham last night at around 2am.

The victim, in his 30s, reported that he was approached by men who tried to take his mobile phone.

His phone was knocked to the floor, and as the victim tried to pick it up he reported being assaulted.

Police officers in the area quickly located two men, aged 18 and 20, who matched the description of the suspects and they were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

The man’s phone and watch were recovered by police.

Both men from Gillingham remain in police custody whilst enquiries continue.
