Two cars collide on the A289 Wainscott Bypass in Strood

Motorists faced delays getting to work this morning after two cars crashed on the Wainscott bypass not far from the Cliffe turn-off.

Officers were called out to the A289 London-bound carriageway shortly after 8.30am to reports two cars had collided with each other.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “It happened near the junction with Stonehorse Lane.

“The incident is reported to have involved two cars.

“A barrier is reported to have been damaged and the carriageway is reported to be partially blocked.”

It is not thought anyone was seriously injured during the smash.
