Two robbery suspects have appeared in court following two separate incidents.
Police attended Gillingham High Street on Sunday following reports a man had been making threats with a craft knife.
It is alleged the victim, who is believed to be known to the suspect, also had their phone stolen.
Neil Dunkley, of no fixed address, was arrested and later charged by investigators from North Kent CID with robbery, possessing a knife in a public place and threatening a person while in possession of a knife.
The 48-year-old was remanded to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday (January 16).
The arrest came just hours after a similar, but separate, incident in the town.
Officers in Pier Road were alerted to a victim who had reportedly been assaulted and had a quantity of cash stolen by an unknown man.
Reece Powell, of Corporation Road, Gillingham was later charged with robbery in connection with the incidents.
The 36-year-old was remanded to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday (January 15).
Both Powell and Dunkley have been conditionally bailed to a later hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on February 13.
