Two friends will be baring nearly all as they walk through Rainham to raise money for a children’s charity.

Julie Stewart and Lorraine Harris will be doing a sponsored bikini walk of more than three-and-a-half miles from 11am on Sunday for Cerebra, a charity that helps to improve the lives of children with brain conditions.

Mrs Stewart’s three-year-old daughter Paige has cerebral palsy.

The condition means she struggles to walk and keep her balance.

The charity has funded a tricycle to help her get out and about.

The pair, both 33, will set off from Mrs Stewart’s home in Norman Close.

Their route will take in Wigmore Road, Maidstone Road, Deanwood Drive, Woodside and Long Catlis Road.

The aim is to raise around £1,000 for the charity.

Mrs Stewart said: "I want to give something back. We thought by doing something a bit random and different we’d get people to sponsor us."

The temperature on Sunday is forecast to be around 12 degrees, and Mrs Stewart admitted she has been concerned: "I decided to do it in January, and at the beginning of April I was starting to worry about the weather."
