Two men have been charged with fraud offences after a bank card was allegedly stolen and used.

Officers investigating the incident charged the pair with five counts of fraud each after a contactless card was used to make 10 purchases.

It is alleged the card was stolen from a van parked in Waterside Lane, Gillingham, in April.

Police arrested Danny Martin, 33, of no fixed address, as a suspect and after being arrested he was also charged with one count of theft from a vehilce, which related to an incident in Hawthorne Avenue, Gillingham, during the same month.

Martin appeared before magistrates in Medway on Friday, May 18, and was remanded in custody.

He is next due to appear at the same court on on Friday.

Officers also charged, Anthony Eastwood, 33 with the same fraud offences.

Eastwood, of fixed address, was also charged with theft from a vehicle which relates to an incident in Cornwall Road, Gillingham, in March.

He has been bailed to appear at the magistrates court on Wednesday, June 13.
