A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted after drinking with two men and going back to one of their homes.
Officers have released e-fits of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the incident which took place at an unknown location in Gillingham.
The victim called police two days later to report that a sexual offence may have been committed against her but that she did not recall the exact circumstances of what happened.
Later that month, she told officers she remembered befriending and drinking with two men that evening and went back to one of their home addresses.
She woke up the next morning believing a sexual offence may have been committed against her.
The incident is said to have taken place in the evening of Sunday, November 29, 2015 and the victim reported it on Tuesday, December 1 but the information has only just been released by police.
One of the men is described as being aged 28-30 years old, about 5ft 8in, wearing a flat cap and possibly a bandana covering his mouth. He is said to have spoken with a Polish accent.
The other is described as being much shorter than the first, about 20 years old and with short black hair. He spoke with a foreign accent and had a tanned complexion.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Heather Thompson said: "I would like to reassure people that this is being treated as an isolated incident that is not being linked to any other reported offences.
"The victim recalls drinking with the men and going to a house or flat with them, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what may have taken place.
"This is a very complex investigation and we have carried out a significant number of enquiries over the last few months including several forensic tests and a review of many hours of CCTV footage.
"No arrests have been made but the victim has helped us to piece together these images of two men who may be able to assist us in establishing what took place."
Anyone who recognises the men can call the appeal line on 01634 792209 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
