A pair of women have been arrested after another was taken to hospital following an assault.

Yesterday (September 11) police were called at 2.15pm to reports of an attack in Castle Road in Chatham.

Officers attended along with ambulance crews to find a woman injured. She was treated and taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.

Two other women, a 26-year-old and a 55-year-old, both from Herne Bay were arrested a short time later in connection with the incident.

Both have been released on bail as inquiries continue.
