The Medway Tunnel was closed after a vehicle broke down in the Westbound tunnel this afternoon

Drivers could face delays on their way home tonight after a broken down vehicle closed the Medway Tunnel this afternoon.

The Westbound Tunnel was closed around 3pm and motorist Jenny Coxall said traffic was queuing at the roundabout near Dockside.

Police were called at 3.05pm and closed the tunnel whilst the vehicle was moved to a safe place.

The tunnel reopened at 3.40pm.
