Gills players put their skills to the test by trying to kick a ball into a giant paint pot.
The squad, who are in the area finals of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, took on the sponsor’s Paint Pot Challenge.
Ten players attempted to chip the ball from the angle of the 18-yard box into a giant inflatable pot on the middle of the six-yard line.
They were joined by supporter Gary Norman, who won a competition to take part.
The challenge is given to teams taking part in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, with 10 points awarded for a successful chip-in and one for each time the paint pot is struck.
Brennan Dickenson, Max Ehmer and Luke Norris scored a point each, while Gary also added a point. But it was Josh Hare who managed a perfect chip in, giving Gillingham a total of 14 points.
Barnsley lead with a 26 points.
Gary, 50, a Gillingham season ticket holder for 20 years, said: “Not many people get the opportunity to mingle with the players at training, so that was a fantastic experience.”
Gillingham play the second leg in the area final against Bristol City on Thursday, January 29, and need to come back from a 4-2 defeat at Priestfield to make it to Wembley.
