Video shows dangerous speeding driver spinning out of control on A2/M2 near Rochester and Strood

Heart-stopping footage has emerged of the moment a speeding driver cut across several lanes of traffic before spinning out of control.

The video, which was captured on another driver's dashcam, shows a blue Subaru Impreza GX careering across the A2 at high speed, catapulting a shower of grit and stones at nearby vehicles.

VIDEO: Footage shows the speeding driver on the A2

The breathtakingly reckless motorist attempts to take the junction 1 exit for Rochester and Strood at the last-minute, hurtling across the chevrons and into the path of traffic on the sliproad.

The driver then loses control of the vehicle, which spins 360 degrees in a cloud of smoke - sending it sweeping back onto the busy A2 carriageway.

The car then looks as if it is going to collide into oncoming vehicles - and that is when the 13-second clip abruptly ends.

The dramatic footage was captured just before yesterday's evening rush hour by Natty Royston Jessop, who posted it on the Facebook group A2/M2 Traffic Updates London/Coastbound.

He said: "3.30 this afternoon, owner might like to contact me to pay for the excess on my stone chipped windscreen."

The post has been shared more than 80 times, with others commenting underneath to say they have seen similar dangerous driving in the area.

Another poster said they saw the aftermath of the incident, adding: "As I drove past he was reversing up the A2 to get on this sliproad.

"There was another car stopped on the A2 and another on the slip road, not sure if connected.

"He clearly cannot drive safely! He nearly came into my lane as he reversed!"

Kent Police say they were not called to crash.
