Motorcyclist speeds at
149mph and does a wheelie

A motorcyclist has been banned from the road after admitting
doing wheelies and speeding across the M2 bridge at 149mph.

Danny Bleach, 37, was filmed by officers from Kent Police's
motorcycle unit riding along the coast-bound carriageway from
Strood to Chatham.

Officers were riding an unmarked bike when they filmed him do
two wheelies, before riding off at speeds of up to 149mph.

Bleach, of Coleman Road, Belvedere, was disqualified for 18
months after admitting dangerous driving when he appeared at Medway
Magistrates' Court.

He was given a six-month suspended
prison sentence and had to take an extended test to get his licence
back.

Bleach was also ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work
and pay £85 court costs.

PC Chris King, who was riding the unmarked bike that filmed
Bleach, said: "This motorcyclist had a total disregard for the road
and other riders.

"The consequences of Bleach's riding could have been so much
worse.

"The unmarked bikes are a significant asset in our efforts to
tackle dangerous and antisocial use of vehicles, as can be seen
from the consistent successful outcomes we see at court.

"I would like to reassure all those who use the roads
responsibly that our unmarked bikes and cars are there for their
safety, and they have nothing to fear from them."
