Villagers claim they have not been consulted by Halling Parish Council about the future of the village’s former fire station.
A row broke out after the council decided to stall a possible £175,000 sale of the building to the local Baptist Church.
As a result, a fire station committee was set up to find out exactly what residents want to see done with the building.
However, villagers believe the consultation has not moved that much further on and, despite two more parish council meetings, say they are still unsure what is planned for the future.
One woman, who asked not to be named but has lived in the village for more than 20 years, said she is still waiting to be asked her opinion.
“It is important to many people living here as we want it to be used as a community facility.
“I’ve spoken to a lot of people in the village and not one has received a leaflet or been asked what they want.
“I also went to this week’s meeting and that didn’t really give us any answers either.”
The fire station was purchased by the parish council on behalf of the community after housing giant Redrow, which had built a large new estate in the area, donated £100,000.
It was hoped the purchase would then enable the council to sell on the building and plough the profits back into the community.
The parish council’s fire station committee has set itself a March deadline.
The Baptist Church held an open day on Saturday to tell villages what it intends to do with the building if it can secure the sale.
Halling Parish Council said it was unable to comment on the matter.
