A vulnerable woman who was on the wrong side of a motorway bridge has been brought to safety after an emergency service response.
Traffic on the coast bound carriageway of the M2 was held between Junction 1 for Rochester, and Junction 3 for Maidstone, just after 12am.
Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue, HM Coastguard and National Highways responded to the incident on the Medway Bridge.
Drivers were told to stay in their vehicles while officers helped the woman.
The female was eventually brought onto the correct side of the bridge and was handed over to mental health professionals.
The road reopened shortly before 1am.
