A MOTHER and daughter were stunned when they returned to their car after a walk to find it alight.

The pair had been out walking their dog in Shorne, near Rochester, and had left their Vauxhall Astra parked in Green Farm Lane.

Firefighters from Strood were called to the blaze. A spokesman said: “The lady and her daughter had only left the car for about 10 minutes and returned to find it has been set alight.

“The car was completely burnt out. It is quite a lonely area, so after we had put out the fire we waited with them until the police arrived.”
