Fire breaks out in chimney of home in Boundary Road, Chatham

Firefighters were called to a home after a blaze began in the chimney.

Two crews arrived at Boundary Road, Chatham at around 2pm today and used chimney gear and hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

There were no reported injuries, and the cause is believed to be accidental.

Emergency services had left by 2.30pm.

Crews are reminding people to have their chimneys regularly swept to prevent a build up, which can then cause fires.
