Medway Council has issued a warning after reports residents had received scam phone calls from someone claiming to be from the authority.

A man using the name, Daniel Brian, has reportedly been posing as someone from the council, in a bid to obtain bank details.

The council have warned residents not to give out any information over the phone.

A council spokesman said: “Please note that if you receive a call from a Daniel Brian claiming to be from Medway Council he does not work here.

“Please do not pass on your bank details to anyone, nobody from Medway Council will call you to ask for those.

“We understand this is a scam and you should not speak with this man or give him any personal details.”
