Motorists are being reminded to be aware of motorbikes during the bad weather.
Officers from Medway road policing unit are issuing the warning because more rain is forecast in the area and driving conditions can deteriorate quickly.
Officers say other road users can often miss motorcyclists.
Police are also reminding motorcyclists themselves, that they can become a victim of the bad weather if they don’t drive sensibly in the poor conditions.
PC Andy Ledger said: “It’s important for all drivers, including motorcyclists themselves to pay extra attention during the bad weather. “One small error can prove fatal and we want to ensure that there are no fatal accidents in Medway in the run up to and after Christmas.
“Drivers should regularly check that their vehicles are road worthy and are safe to drive.
“They should also remember that wet roads could be slippery, causing breaking distances to increase.
“Falling leaves are hazardous as when they build up they can be as slippery as ice, meaning that bikes can quickly lose control, especially on bends.
“There will be road checks across Medway throughout the rest of November and into December so motorists should ensure that they check their vehicle before setting off.
“Road safety is a major concern for residents in Medway so this is an example of Kent Police listening to people’s needs and taking appropriate action.
“Anyone found to be breaking the law could end up with an expensive bill and are ultimately putting their lives and the lives of others at risk.”
