A series of burglaries in Medway have prompted detectives to urge homeowners to take simple steps to help protect themselves.
Over the past couple of weeks, three break-ins have happened in separate streets in Gillingham.
Details have only just been released by police, and the first burglary occurred in West Street, Gillingham on Monday, December, 19, between 5.30pm and 6.05pm.
A gold watch, a cheque and a tin of biscuits were stolen.
The second burglary happened in Baden Street, on Wednesday, December 21, between 11am and 7.30pm, when two laptops, Playstation games, an iPod docking station, an iPod Nano, a digital camera and bank cards were snatched.
Then on Sunday, January 8, a home was broken into in Milner Road, where a ring and three necklaces were stolen.
DC Aaron Chapman said: "We are reminding residents to make sure there are no insecurities at their homes in order to prevent them from becoming the victim of crime.
"In the recent burglaries in Gillingham, access was gained via open bedroom windows, with the offenders climbing on walls, conservatories and so on, to reach them.
"We always advise people to make sure that ground floor doors and windows are locked when you are away from the area, and also not to leave anything valuable on display.
"Keys, bags, wallets and phones will all look attractive to someone who is on the look out for easy insecurities."
