A fundraising football team aiming to give as many children as possible a chance to play sport is gearing up for its next set of charity matches.
Rochester Eagles has been playing in exhibition games for three years raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
The club was only set up four years ago but player and founder Callum Kemp has been keen to raise money for the children’s hospital.
The 26-year-old said: “Football especially youth football is thriving but there are some kids that won’t get a chance to kick a ball.
“This is why the work the charity does is so important, and we want to help them to keep doing their good work.”
In the last two matches, the club has raised £2,600 and they are looking to add to that total this year.
For all the work Rochester Eagles has done for GOSH the club is now sponsored by the hospital as they prepare for the upcoming season.
It will be the second season the club has run a second team in the Medway Sunday League and they are also looking to set up a youth squad.
The charity matches will be held at the Gallagher Stadium in Maidstone with the first team playing Rainham 84 FC on September 13, while the reserves will play Anchorians FC on September 27 – both games will start at 6pm.
There is also a JustGiving page set up for both matches for people to donate.
Tickets will cost £10 per adult and £5 per child and can be bought on the Rochester Eagles Facebook page or at the gate.
The Spitfire Lounge in the ground will also be open and a burger van will be hired for the events.
