The start of Medway's August bank holiday was a very British affair.
Almost half an inch of rain fell in two hours in the Towns yesterday, leaving several roads including Pier Road, Gillingham, still partially flooded this morning.
Firefighters spent an hour pumping floodwater out of a house in Newitt Road, Hoo, at 4pm yesterday.
Trains were also delayed at Gillingham railway station for several hours last night due to flooding.
The line was last flooded just a month ago after heavy thunderstorms.
On the roads, a car hit the central reservation on the M2 Medway Bridge London-bound just before 6pm.
Police and firefighters attended to reports the car was stuck leaking fuel in the outside lane, next to the central reservation. The driver was not thought to be injured.
Thankfully, it seems yesterday's rain was just a blip.
Scattered sunshine is expected later today (Sunday), with bright sunshine and highs of 21 degrees tomorrow.
