A Chatham man is set to appear in the latest series of MTV’s reality show, Ex on the Beach.
Youssef Hassane, 20, known as Yoyo, applied to be on what he thought was the channel’s new dating show back in May.
He said: “We got an email to say where we were going the day before. We stayed in a hotel for two days and then got put on a beach with cameras rolling.
“I’ve made lifelong relationships with people, it was a great experience.”
The show features eight single men and women enjoying a summer holiday in paradise whilst looking for love but their former partners can arrive at any time.
When Mr Hassane’s ex, Naomi, popped up however, he said it wasn’t a nasty surprise.
“We’re on really good terms and good friends so I was happy to see her,” he said. “It was just nice having someone from back home as there were a lot of northerners on the show.”
The former St Simon Stock Catholic School pupil said his only regret was finding himself slipping into a northern accent during the show.
“By the fifth day in there I had a northern twang. I think its because my mother is Scottish and I grew up around northerners. I’m going to look like a right plonker on air.”
Ex on The Beach starts tonight at 10pm on MTV.
