Pedestrians were left shocked after spotting a large wolf on a bench along Rochester Eplanade.
But the ferocious looking canine is not thought to have posed a threat to humans – it was merely starring in a new music video for Rochester roofer-turned-singer Jefferson B.

In fact, to be precise, it was Rochester roofer-turned-singer Jefferson B – who was filmed wearing the wolfish garb at locations around Medway at the behest of Strood filmmaker Matt Smith.
Mr Smith, who wrote the song Cut the Wire with Carolyn Moore, said the wolf theme took over the video only at the last minute.
He explained: “As the lyrics are fairly melancholic, about a guy who feels like he’s outside looking in on a world he doesn’t feel part of, I decided to add some humour to the video by incorporating a puppet, which only he can see.
“I bought the puppet unseen and once I’d seen it, I decided to make it the theme.”
When not being operated by Jeff himself, the puppet was operated by local artist Marissa Leadbeater; while other “wolfish” items in the bizarre debut music video include a copy of The Wolf Of Wall Street book, a wolf mug, a wolf power ranger, a wolf T-shirt, a pair of “wolf hands” and a Wolves football scarf.
The final “wolf” is Rocky Corrigan, a Yorkshire Terrier who lives at the French Hospital in Rochester High Street, where the team were given permission to film the office scene.
Jefferson B's song Cut the Wire could be a howling success
The musicians also filmed in Cavendish Road, Rochester but it was the singer’s appearance on the Esplanade while wearing a wolf mask that grabbed the most attention.
“Jeff got a few double takes while he was sitting on the bench on the Esplanade, I must admit,” added Mr Smith.
