A woman and child have been injured in an accident in Rainham.

Police were called to Orchard Street, near to St Margaret's Infant and Junior Schools, just after 9am.

A woman pushing a child in a buggy is thought to have been hit by a car.

An ambulance and a police car were on the scene.

A spokesman for Kent Police said neither the woman or the child, whose ages are unknown, are thought to have suffered serious injuries.
