Further efforts will be made to confirm the identity of "skeletal remains" found at a home in Hempstead ahead of a full inquest in April.
A pre-inquest review into the death of Nigerian-born Omolara Soremekun, 89, was held following the discovery of an elderly woman's body at a home in Birch Grove on Saturday, February 1.
Sonia Hayes, Mid Kent and Medway assistant coroner, said a medical cause of death had not been established, and the identity of the deceased remained an issue.
The court heard Omolara Soremekun's daughter was "not content" that the deceased was her mother, and did not wish to engage with proceedings.
The coroner noted it was an offence not to cooperate but said that "due to the medical status" of the daughter, it would not be useful to pursue a legal path.
Instead she ordered that steps were taken to contact other relatives, a GP and Medway social services staff, who might be able to assist with identification; and suggested bank records and other documentation should be requested in a further effort to link Omolara Soremekun to the address.
The court also heard the 89-year-old was known to social services at Medway Council, and a safeguarding adult review had been conducted
Ms Hayes also requested an independent management report relating to Omolara Soremekun's care, and added: "I'm trying to connect Omolara Soremekun to that address and then to establish her care, because I'm trying to understand the circumstances leading up to her death."
A full inquest was listed for April 12 at County Hall, Maidstone, although parties were warned the venue was subject to change.
