The body of a woman in her 30s has been found in a bedroom at the Premier Inn hotel at Medway Valley Leisure Park in Strood.

Police made the grim discovery yesterday lunchtime at the hotel in Chariot Way. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Witnesses described seeing several police cars parked outside the hotel at about 12.30pm.

The coroner has been informed and an inquest will be opened into the death. The woman has not been named.

Earlier this year a police officer who was found dead at the same hotel. DS Ben Turner, based at Tonbridge, was found hanged in February.
