A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a woman was hit by a car in Gillingham.

Police were called to Rock Avenue just after 12.30pm.

The woman, in her 60s, has been taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.

A 26-year-old man from Gillingham has been bailed until Monday, July 11, pending further inquiries.

The road was closed while officers carried out an investigation, but has since reopened.
