A motorist lost control of her car which mounted the embankment and ended up in a field.

The crash happened in Bush Road, Cuxton, at about 11.15pm last night . The female driver suffered facial injuries during the incident.

Paramedics, firefighters and police were called to the scene and the woman was taken to hospital.

Her Nissan Micra car was removed from the field and left in a nearby car park.
