Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman's fingers were broken in a reported assault.
A man and a woman were walking along Pier Road when they were allegedly approached by a man in his forties who is reported to have started shouting at them.
The man, who is believed to have known the woman, is reported to have attacked the couple, resulting in the woman breaking two fingers.
Officers believe a member of the public stepped in and stopped the incident and police would like to talk to them or anyone else who saw the incident.
It happened at around 7.15pm on Sunday, September 18, but police have only just released details as a witness appeal is launched.
