A woman has been jailed for two years after heroin and crack cocaine was found in her handbag.
Sheelagh Tierney, 43, of Perry Street, Chatham, was arrested in January after officers attended a property in Grange Hill.
They were concerned the address was being used for the supply of drugs.
On entry, they met Tierney who became nervous and evasive after officers saw a wrap of heroin close to her.
She was detained and searched and officers found a large amount on heroin and crack cocaine.
The officers also seized a mobile phone, which had messages that suggested she was actively involved in supplying drugs, and a digital weighing scale.
Tierney pleaded not guilty to one count of possessing heroin with intent to supply and one count of possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply.
She was sentenced to two years and six months at Kingston-Upon-Thames Crown Court.
Detective Constable Robin Hemsley, the investigating officer for this case, said: "Tierney made a choice to make money from people suffering with drug addictions.
"Despite the obvious evidence against her, she chose to plead not guilty and refused to attend the trial.
"I am pleased the court has passed this sentence, which sends a very clear message that dealing drugs in Medway is something that we will not tolerate."
