Detectives are hunting a robber after he snatched a woman’s handbag as she walked along a road in Rochester.
The woman, who has not been named, was walking along Borstal Road, at about 7.50pm on Saturday when she was pushed in the back by the mugger who made off with her bag.
The robber, who had his face obscured by either his hood or a scarf, is thought to have then jumped in an a car which had been left running nearby and made off from the scene.
It is thought someone else may have been at the wheel of the car which drove down the road in the direction of Rochester town centre.
Prior to the robbery, the woman, who is in her 60s, told detectives she saw a light coloured car as she walked along St Margaret’s Street.
This car was parked near the junction of Goddings Drive and had the engine running, with no one inside, officers believe this was the getaway vehicle.
The robber is thought to be in his 20s.
