A disgusted takeaway customer has shared pictures of her order online after claiming her partner bit into a piece of fried chicken to find it was "red raw" in the middle.
Wendy Pope says she ordered the meal from Pizza Fellas on Chatham High Street as a midweek "treat" for her daughter.
But when her husband bit into his meal she claims it was still "red raw in the middle".
The takeaway disputes this and say it dealt with the complaint promptly and to the satisfaction of the customer and also questioned whether the photo share online was of food from their outlet.
However, Mrs Pope alleges the store was rude and dismissive when she first made contact.
"All we got was 'yeah bruv but it is fresh that is why it is red'," the 47-year-old said.
The family were unable to get through initially on Just Eat, where they placed the order, and claim it was only after they posted the image online, to warn others, that they got a response.
The Chatham mum, who works as a support worker said: "We put it on Facebook to warn people to be careful.
"It saves someone wasting their money and doing the same we done.
"People are skint around these times and they don't want to be buying a takeaway like this."
She added that her husband began to complain of an upset stomach a short time after and raised this with the manager when he got in touch later in the evening.
"I said to him do you realise by eating your food my husband could be really ill?" she said.
Mrs Pope says they were offered replacement food but when it arrived they no longer felt like eating it.
A former worker, who did not wish to be named also told KentOnline: "They shouldn't be running a business because the food is inedible and they treat their staff and more importantly their customers really badly."
But the Pizza Fellas' manager, who gave his name only as Abi, believes they dealt with the complaint promptly and to the satisfaction of the customer.
He dismissed claims made online by "negative people" who did not know the "full story" as unfair and untrue, and pointed out the business was now under new management.
Abi also explained Pizza Fellas operates separately to the similarly named deserts takeaway ChocaFella despite being housed under the same roof.
With regards to the behaviour of staff handling calls Abi put this down to a "miscommunication" due to a "language barrier" and said the worker concerned was not trained in this task and had only stepped in to help a colleague.
"I have done everything I can, I spoke to them, they were satisfied..." he said. "We are there to do business. People make mistakes."
The takeaway boss also says he was aware of the image online but disputed whether it actually showed food from his restaurant.
He said: "I have kids, I have a family and I eat at other places and I don't expect that.
"If you look at Chatham High Street how many restaurants are already closed? People still acknowledge we are trying to do our best."
