Teenage go-kart champ Daniel Gale is raring to go to raise money for charity.
The 13-year-old from Wigmore is planning to complete 500 laps of his local circuit today and will donate his sponsorship money to the Demelza children’s hospice.
Daniel has been racing since he was eight and last year competed throughout Italy making a big impression.
Apart from karting Daniel has always been passionate about the charity which cares for desperately sick youngsters in Bobbing.
Dad John Gale said: “When he was very young he saw a sign for the hospice and asked what it was. When I told him it was a place where children go to die he was very saddened.
"He vowed that if he reaches his dream to be a professional racing driver he would donate back to the children of Demelza as he realises how lucky he is to have health.”
So far this year he has won five out of six races with lap records at Buckmore Park, Bayford Meadows near Sittingbourne and Lydd Raceway.
Mr Gale, of Maidstone Road, said: “Daniel is spending as much time as possible racing. His school, the Howard, is very understanding.”
He promoted his fundraiser at Bayford Meadows during the Demelza fun day at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre.
Sponsors can pledge donations through The Demelza 500, on the JustGiving website, or by texting DANG50£1/2/3/4/5/10.
